A short distance away from the coast of Tuscany lies a picturesque island of Elba. The ferries from/to the mainland run frequently all year round, the journey is pleasant and comfortable, and only takes an hour.
According to the legend, the beautiful Goddess Venus was bathing in the blue waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea when her necklace made of pearls broke. The loose pearls then transformed themselves into seven little islands and largest and the most exquisite pearl became Elba…
The island has a long and colourful history. The Etruscans and Romans were among the first notable residents. The Medici Dynasty of Florence also left their mark here. However, the most famous person ever to live on the island was Napoleon Bonaparte, who was forced into exile here in 1814. He loved the island and the islanders loved him. Unfortunately, Elba was too small for his ambitious plans. He managed to escape ten months later, only to face a terrible defeat at Waterloo and the subsequent definitive exile on the island of Saint Helena.
Elba is a National Park, covered with lush evergreen forest and surrounded by clear blue sea. It has beautiful unspoiled beaches, rugged mountains and places of natural wilderness and historical interest.
THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO ON ELBA…!
Whether you like swimming, diving, sailing, hiking, cycling or sightseeing, there is something for everyone. Active or relaxing holiday – the choice is yours…

You will find us in a small seaside village of LACONA in the south.
There are two large beaches, one with fine white sand and the other with smooth dark pebbles. From the beach you can enjoy the views of the surrounding green hills as well as of the mysterious island of Montecristo.
For your refreshments you don’t have to walk far. There are several restaurants and bars right on the beach or at a close distance.
From Lacona it is just a short drive to nearby charming little towns of Porto Azzurro, Capoliveri or Marina di Campo. There you will find a great variety of interesting shops, or cafes and restaurants that offer
a traditional Tuscan cuisine.

If you are looking for a simple, affordable and quiet place to stay, with wonderful views of the blue sea and the rolling hills, look no further. Within the boundaries of our fenced garden, we are offering accommodation in a cosy caravan, that is located far from our residence to guarantee your privacy. The caravan sleeps two people and has basic cooking facilities inside. An outdoor private bathroom with shower, basin and WC is at your disposal.
Parking place is outside the property on public land and the beach is about half an hour of pleasant walk away.
